Mr. Frankie Yao Kutsoke is the Founder of the concept, “The Youth President Ghana”, with Dr. Bossman E. Asare as the coordinator and Mr. Samuel Takyi-Elkannah as the General Manager of the program. It is governed by the following personalities: Mrs. Rose Karikari Annan, Dr. Bossman E. Asare, Mrs. Beauty Narteh, Dr. Aggrey Darko and Mr. Frankie Kutsoke. Governance is defined as the process of decision-making and the process by which decisions are implemented (or not implemented). On the other hand, good governance is described as a sort of process that is participatory, consensus oriented, accountable, transparent, responsive, effective and efficient, equitable and inclusive, and is the rule of law. While it may not be necessary to dwell so much on the current definitions of good governance, as many other definitions appear to have been derived from the aforementioned, it is important to note that the term comes with its own controversies. While it is very difficult to speculate on how good the conventional paradigm of good governance is for Africa, there is the need for African institutions to start addressing its meaning within a localized context. This is very critical to the future state of the continent and calls to question what constitutes good or bad governance in Africa. The debates on the subject matter of good governance have, however, led to the formation of this television reality show introduced by SAMdex - EMPIRE Investments Limited, named “The Youth President Ghana” to debate on the subject matter. This program, if implemented, will give the relevant stakeholders the opportunity to facilitate the generation of quality ideas for the development of a practicable understanding of good governance in Ghana. The Ghanaian youth will also get the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of good governance and it will further actively promote its values which will contribute to the economic and political transformation processes in Ghana. This will enlighten and enhance the confidence of the locals to demand for probity and accountability from the local governments.
Our mission is to redefine the meaning of Good Governance within a localized context.
Our vision is to create a platform for the youth in Ghana to exhibit their leadership capability.
The primary objective of the program is to groom over 500 effective opinion leaders that will educate the Ghanaian youth on good governance within the localized context.
The program - The Youth President Ghana - is a non-partisan political reality television show which has a primary objective of creating a platform to solicit national developmental ideas from the youth of Ghana and also grooming them for national development. The proposed program is envisaged to produce 20 opinion leaders in four sets per year within the next five years of operation who will go on an educational tour during their one year term in office, teaching other youth on areas of good governance. They will be trained and equipped with skills to educate the other youth on how to demand for probity and accountability from the local governments. At the end of each year of this program, four contestants – the winner and three runner-ups will be assigned with projects to educate the youth in the various secondary schools and some rural localities in Ghana. This will be done through the provision of logistics. The organizers of this program are in consultation with people in academia from the Political Science Department, University of Ghana, Legon and any television station willing to partner with us to telecast this programme live on their station. The main activities that this program will comprise of are the following;
